Diagnostic Evaluations

A Psychological Diagnostic Evaluation is an individualized assessment aimed to help clarify or confirm any diagnostic concerns you may have for yourself, child or family member. These evaluations are particularly helpful when the presenting problem is complicated or previous treatment has been unsuccessful. These evaluations typically include assessment of personality, social-emotional, and intellectual/cognitive functioning. We have considerable experience diagnosing mood disorders such as depressive and anxiety disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, eating-disordered behavior, feeding disorders, and other behavioral issues.

Forensic Evaluations

We offer a variety of forensic evaluations, including pre-employment evaluations for New York City and State public safety and law enforcement positions, evaluations to appeal a public safety/law enforcement position disqualification, fitness-for-duty evaluations, and firearm evaluations.

Pre-Adoption Evaluations

Prior to adopting a child, your agency may require you to undergo a psychological assessment. These evaluations assess an individual’s or couple’s readiness to adopt. We offer individualized evaluations to meet the specific requirements of each adoption agency in a caring and supportive environment. Evaluations generally include an in-depth clinical interview, the use of various assessment tools, and a review of your home study evaluation.

Pre-Surgical Bariatric Evaluations

Bariatric evaluations are often required for insurance approval prior to undergoing surgery. The focus of this evaluation is to identify strengths and resources that will help you with the recovery process and the goal of improving your health and quality of life. Preoperative psychological evaluations generally include a review of your medical history, a discussion with your current mental health provider, and the use of interview and assessment tools.
