Faye Toumarides, Psy.D.

Co-Founder

Dr. Toumarides is a Co-founder of LifeWorks Psychology and a licensed clinical psychologist. She is also a former Adjunct Professor at Queens College, and recently was the Child and Adolescent Clinical Supervisor at the Queens College Psychological Center. After earning her doctorate from Yeshiva University, she completed her APA-accredited internship at JCCA (Jewish Child Care Association)and her postdoctoral training at Cognitive Behavioral Consultants. She continued her work there as the Coordinator of CBT Programming before leaving to pursue her own practice. Dr. Toumarides has expertise in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders through CBT and DBT frameworks. She also has extensive experience in forensic, diagnostic, and personality assessment across inpatient, outpatient, and forensic settings. Although her experiences range across the lifespan, Dr. Toumarides has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families.

Lauren Salvatore, Psy.D.

Co-Founder

Dr. Salvatore is a Co-founder of LifeWorks Psychology and a licensed clinical psychologist. She also serves as the Clinical Director of the Eating Disorder Partial Hospital Program at Cohen’s Children Hospital at Northwell Health. Prior to earning her doctorate from Yeshiva University, Dr. Salvatore completed various clinical experiences in inpatient, outpatient and forensic settings.  She completed her internship at Kings County Hospital Center (APA Accredited) and her postdoctoral training at Northwell Health’s Early Treatment Program/Behavioral Health College Partnership. She works with individuals across the lifespan and has a special interest in CBT for children and adolescents and conducting forensic evaluations. She has been intensively trained in DBT through Behavioral Tech and is the team leader of the DBT Team at the Eating Disorder Partial Hospital Program.

Samantha Dalfen, Ph.D.

Consulting Psychologist

Dr. Dalfen is a licensed clinical psychologist and a licensed behavior analyst. She worked as an Adjunct Professor at Queens College from 2012 to 2018 as well. Prior to earning her doctorate from The Graduate Center, CUNY, Dr. Dalfen completed various clinical experiences in school, home, and community settings. She completed her postdoctoral training at Behavior Intervention Psychological Services in Hempstead, NY. Dr. Dalfen has experience in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and autism spectrum disorders through CBT and ABA frameworks, and expertise in supervising clinicians in the implementation of behavioral interventions. She has also published and presented on topics related to college teaching and autism spectrum disorder. Although she has experience with individuals of all ages, Dr. Dalfen has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, and families.


 
 

Ira Yenko, Psy.D.

Consulting Psychologist

Dr. Yenko is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Health. Prior to earning his doctorate from Yeshiva University, Dr. Yenko completed his internship and postdoctoral training at VA Palo Alto Health Care System (APA Accredited) with a focus in geriatric psychology. He has received extensive training, providing evidence-based treatments to adults across ages and backgrounds. He adopts a collaborative culturally sensitive approach to therapy that honors the individual client’s personhood, strengths, and values. 
In addition to private practice, he also holds a clinical position at Zucker Hillside Hospital where he provides care to individuals facing anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, and disability/life-limiting illnesses. He also serves as the mentoring committee chair for APA division 12.2 and has a clinical and research interest in training and supervision, addressing disparities in mental health service use among racial and ethnic minority groups, and providing treatment to individuals with complex medical and psychological illnesses.
